I've always loved words.  My editorial career spanned 20 years on two coasts, working for professional and consumer magazines, where I also authored and ghostwrote books ranging from home design to health care. When I moved from LA to Chicago with two young kids, I balanced full-time mom with part-time freelance until co-founding Cookie Bear Press.

​Today, I work in risk management at a Fortune 500 company, where I use vacation time to visit my daughter in LA and my son in Sydney, Australia.
